SYNOPSIS

The image of pirates was created by Hollywood, but is it actually true to reality? Thanks to new underwater and on-land excavations in Mauritius and Madagascar, as well as archival and museum research in France, Spain, England and Canada, a group of international archaeologists and historians paint a new portrait of the world of piracy in the Indian Ocean.
