Lyon-Turin: The Last XXL Tunnel
Across the millennia, tunnels have enabled us to shorten distances and overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Today, in the heart of the Alps, hundreds of men and women are applying their expertise to an ambitious project: construction of the world’s longest railway tunnel on the Lyon-Turin high-speed rail line. All sorts of technical resources are being invented and used to conquer the mountain and build the “tunnel of the century”.
