Departure of the UNDER ANTARCTICA expedition!
GEDEON Programmes is producing a 2×70′ documentary series for France Télévisions, directed by Xavier Lefebvre, on this unprecedented scientific expedition and the challenges posed by glacial melt around the world.
Glaciologist Dr. Heïdi Sevestre and explorer Matthieu Tordeur are embarking on the most ambitious expedition ever undertaken in Antarctica: crossing the continent on kite skis, equipped with radar, to measure the thickness of the polar ice cap in order to anticipate its reaction to climate change.
This expedition resonates with the struggle of men and women around the world: melting ice affects all of humanity.
The film ‘Under Antarctica’ combines the power of a human adventure in an extreme environment, the challenges of scientific research on climate change, and the spectacle of an investigation into the most impressive ecosystems on the planet.
