Animal Constructions: The Architects of Life

Mating and raising their young, all while protecting them from predators and harsh weather conditions: this is the purpose of shelter for animal architects who build their own “private homes”. Certain species even push the limits of luxury, building several homes to be sure to have a place to stay in summer, away from the noise of pesky kids, for example. In the animal kingdom, architectural engineers specialized in home building exist in the greatest numbers by far, coming from a very wide range of classes including insects, arachnids, mammals, reptiles, birds, and even fish!
